Relativism: YO preacher let ME be ME! LET ME BE ME! This was one of the sayings promoted by a famous cine star in her comments endorsing a magazine that promotes immorality. I responded to that article on the Absolute Truth and addressed students at the
During a debate at a premier college on the subject of
ethics, I asked the students if there is any such thing
as an Absolute Truth. Many of them said this,
'what is right for me
is right for me and what is right for the other person
is right for the other person, all goes, no one can
define an absolute right and wrong.' This was
quite interesting! I responded to the girl and asked her
this 'if a man came and
slit the throat of your mother, would that be ok?'
she said no, so I asked her why not. She said that it
may be ok for that man but it's not ok for me. This girl
had given up her right in the first place when she said
that what that man thinks is right for him is right for
him, she actually endorsed his view. If we all go with
this view that what each one thinks is right is right,
then we don’t need the law enforcement. A rapist will go
on raping and produce the same philosophy of relativity
for his defense. I AM RIGHT. Something cannot be right
and wrong at the same time. An apple cannot be an apple
and not be an apple at the same time. A woman is either
pregnant or she's not pregnant, she's not kind of
pregnant or she can't be pregnant and not be pregnant at
the same time. The laws of logic apply, you cannot
refute it.
Why is it that we cannot go with the relativistic view?
A relativist, for example, says that all points of view
are equally valid. But how is that possible if one point
of view contradicts another point of view? Both
points of view cannot be correct if they are mutually
exclusive. This would violate the law of
non-contradiction, A cannot be A and not be A at the
same time. If we all do what we feel is right in our own understanding and discarding the authoritative Word, we would all end up in émigré or exile in this world of lostness mixing humanism and fanaticism leading to extremism. What is the difference between Bin Laden and Mother Teresa, they both did what they felt was good believing that they were doing it for God. As we can see, the moral lawgiver needs to be looked at without disregard. Secularism is the intellectual structure that governs our contemporary society. Its fundamental ideologies are exclusively concerned with human interest and human activities with the literal segregation of the Creator God and His absolutes. Therefore, secularism is the central focus of the atheistic mind, treating secularization as an alternative religion with the blue print of their lives and destinies in their own hands. I hear many people say 'I'm a self made man' God would probably look down and say hey dude, I made you!
One secularist made this comment: 'Anything goes,
premarital sex or promiscuity is upto the person and we
cannot pass a moral judgment on that.' By the secularist
making a comment of not passing a moral judgment, he
just made a moral judgment by telling the morally
inclined not to make a moral judgment. The EITHER/ OR
does seem to emerge, doesn’t it? It's either this or
that; it cannot be both at the same time. Secularism
just cannot stand the test of time. The Absolute Truth
does because it comes from an Absolute infinite being –
our Creator God.
Sexuality is noble and sacred,
it’s God’s gift, it’s a part of being human and it
should only be within marriage. As Christians we should
be aware of going by popular secular opinions. Humanism
will accept smoking anything from bamboo to grass.
Christians, beware of this secular and atheistic belief,
many Christians have become prisoners of these thoughts
and ideologies and have fallen into the well of worldly
desires and deception. In the context of living a chaste
and pure life, the media today has become so narrow
minded that it can see through a key hole with both
eyes.
Young people are being bombarded with the media influences. The meaning of a dignified life is being lost. There are magazines in
In denying God, we deny ourselves; in denying ourselves
we lose our identity. That is why there is so much
hatred in the world today. The young people are in
search for an identity.
In
Young people speak like Americans
and British for ‘NOTHING’
Young people are depressed over ‘NOTHING’
Young people do drugs for ‘NOTHING’
Young people have same sex relations for ‘NOTHING’
Young people commit suicide for ‘NOTHING’
In
Young people don’t know God
Young people don’t know who God is
They don’t know why they exist
Young people don’t know who they are and where they have
come from
Young people don’t know where they are going
Therefore living or dying doesn’t matter – all is
illusion. ‘NOTHING or NIHILISM’ is impossible when you put your trust in God.
For the time will come when men will not put up with
sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they
will gather around them a great number of teachers to
say what their itching ears want to hear. 2 Timothy 4:3.
Dear young person, I pray that you seek God while you
are young and save yourself from being depressed with
the views of a distorted world. Only the Truth can set
you FREE. God be with you.
